These images illustrate the general processes I employ for Human Centered Design  (HCD) and Service Design Work. Variations are dependent upon deadlines, user access, and
project restrictions.
My goal is to provide research so that your company / division can become experts on how users and clients use your process, site or software product.
Having that expertise and understanding will allow you to plan which features are the priorities for upcoming quarters and years, which will populate the backlog of work. It will also enable you to plan for the future, to know what staff you will need to hire to complete that work, and will save expenses in various areas, such as:
- Less user training necessary if usability matches the client needs
- Very little help desk support necessary to field calls experienced by users who are confused by interfaces built without user research
-  Continuous research cuts down on rework and updates of features that were built without understanding user needs
- By educating the entire company / team / staff, on user needs and how clients use your product(s) will make marketing and sales teams more efficient by having an understanding of what are the needs of your targeted audience and customer base.  Client / user knowledge will also make software / website teams produce work more efficiently and more quickly because they are informed on how their users think and will have an understanding of the changing needs of those clients.
